Thomas Frederick Kicklighter, Jr., 74, of North Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Jeanette Burdette Kicklighter, died Saturday, December 19, 2015. A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Thomas was born August 16, 1941 in Statesboro, Georgia, son of the late Thomas Frederick Kicklighter, Sr. and the late Miriam Hodges Kicklighter. Tommy, as he was known, graduated from Chicora High School, received a BS Degree in Chemical Engineering from Clemson University, and served in the US Army, rising to the rank of First Lieutenant. Through the years he was employed by Westvaco, the College of Charleston, and the Charleston Air Force Base from where he retired.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Freddy Kicklighter of Lexington, SC and Shawn Kicklighter (Gemma) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; and five grandchildren, Devin, Kevin, Bailey, Dylan, and Maddox Kicklighter; and his two beloved westies, Chanci and Maggie.
