Thomas Lee "Lee" Jacobs, Jr., of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, beloved husband of Elizabeth Hodge Jacobs and son of Dr. Samuel Riddle and Jean Southard Jacobs Riddle, and the late Dr. Thomas Lee Jacobs Sr, passed away on June 16, after a courageous 7 month battle with pancreatic cancer.

Lee was born on October 20, 1973, in Charleston, South Carolina. During his early years, he traveled the world with his father’s military career before returning to South Carolina. After losing his father at the age of eight, Lee grew up in Sumter, where he developed a lifelong love of sports and the outdoors.

Lee’s first job was scooping ice cream at Baskin-Robbins, and he later enjoyed working at Riley Park when the Atlanta Braves fielded a minor league team in Sumter. He graduated from Sumter High School in 1991 and was especially proud to have been a member of the school's 1990 Class 4A State Championship football team under Coach Tom Lewis.

A Clemson Tiger through and through, Lee attended and graduated from Clemson University. While at Clemson, he was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity and met the love of his life, Beth. What began as a freshman-year friendship grew into a lifelong partnership filled with love, laughter, and devotion.

After college, Lee made his home in Mount Pleasant and built a successful career in communication cable sales, working for Anicom, Accu-Tech,Greybar and most recently Bachner USA. Through his work, he earned not only loyal clients but also lasting friendships that extended far beyond business.

Lee found joy in the outdoors. He loved hunting dove, deer, and turkey, riding around the family farm, and spending quiet mornings and evenings fishing for redfish and speckled trout from the dock in Awendaw. He treasured time with family and friends and never missed an opportunity to share a laugh. Quick-witted and armed with a perfectly timed jab, Lee had a gift for making people smile. Above all else, he loved being a husband and father. His greatest pride and deepest joy were his two children, Jane and Thomas. His humor, loyalty, strength, and love for his family will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Lee is survived by his wife, Beth Jacobs; his daughter, Jane Jacobs; and his son, Thomas Jacobs. He is also survived by his mother and father, Jean and Dr. Sam Riddle of Sumter, South Carolina; his sisters, Liz Jacobs Goodroe (Randy) of Myrtle Beach and Brelan Riddle Montgomery (Will) of Spartanburg; his brother, Britton Riddle (Kim) of Mount Pleasant; his nephews, Davis Goodroe (Charis), Gibson Goodroe, William Montgomery, Sam Montgomery, Herschell Montgomery, and Rivers Riddle; and his niece, Liza Goodroe Long (Michael).

He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Elizabeth Hodge,sister-in-law, Allison Hodge both of Hartsville, South Carolina, and aunts Judy Southard of Mount Pleasant and Sarah Jacobs Dubose of Sumter.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lowcountry Literacy Project (501c3) 1121 Park West Boulevard, Suite B #92, Mount Pleasant, SC 29466.
