Thomas Lee Gill

Thomas "Tommy" Lee Gill, Jr., 49, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2014. His Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, August 14, 2014 in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road. Interment will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 pm until the time of the service.

Tommy was born August 11, 1964 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of Harriott Stroman Gill and the late Thomas Lee Gill. An accomplished jazz musician and composer, he was a professor in the music department at The College of Charleston. Tommy was a member of the Jazz Artists of Charleston. In his free time, he loved to sail.

He is survived by the love of his life, Tracy Scro of Mount Pleasant, SC; his mother, Harriott S. Gill of Summerville, SC; his sisters and brothers, Sarah Williams of Virginia Beach, VA, Patricia Layden of Johns Island, SC, Tara Blizard of James Island, SC, Marion Isaac Gill of James Island, SC, and Christopher Gill of AL.
