Thomas Evans

Tom Evans, a recently retired Computer Engineer, died on July 1, 2025, in Lecanto, Florida. He was born in Charleston, South Carolina, on October 19, 1951. 

Tom graduated from James Island High School and then from the University of South Carolina. He was highly skilled and talented in his employment in the meat packing industry and was often called upon to improve systems in countries all over the world. In 2005, Tom met Flordeliza, and the two of them married a few years later. They enjoyed a wonderful life together until his untimely passing. 

During his childhood in downtown Charleston, and after moving to James Island, Tom and his family where members of St. Barnabus Lutheran Church. Tom always had the finest stereo equipment- often purchased from Read Brothers on King St. He loved Rock and Roll music. 

To cherish his memory, he leaves behind his loving wife, Flordeliza, his children; Robert, Ryan (Ashley), Chandler (Megan), his three grandchildren, his sister, Martha Agee, his brother, Eric Gantt, his step children; Ronnel Andaya, Oliver Andaya, and Sigrid Axalan, his father-in-law, Les Andrew, his mother-in-law, Patricia Andrew, his sisters-in-law; Cecil and Cynthia, and many other dear and devoted friends. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Ann Evans. 

His visitation will be held at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel on July 8, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. His funeral will be held at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel, 232 Calhoun St., on July 9, 2025 at 10:00 am, with a burial to follow at Bethany Cemetery.
