Thomas was born August 11, 1923 in Charleston, SC, a son of the late Thomas E. Jacques, Sr. and Johanna Buck Jacques. Thomas was a World War II Veteran. He had many stories to tell of his time spent on Guam. He was a lifelong member of St. John's Parish Church, Johns Island, SC, where he served several terms on the Vestry. He retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard, after working 38 years as a Machinist. He loved to grow things, whether it was the plants in his yard or the vegetable garden that he had for many years. He was always willing to share his crops, as well as his vast knowledge of cars, tractor engines, plants, possums, birds of the Charleston area, and the world around us. He loved to fish and shrimp off his dock overlooking the Stono River.

He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his daughters, Carolyn J. Grooms, of Summerville, SC and Linda J. Hihn of Johns Island, SC; his son, T.
