Thomas Albert Collins, of N. Charleston, SC, entered into eternal rest Saturday, September 21, 2013.
His Memorial Service will be held Friday, September 27, 2013, in J. HENRY STUHR INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, 232 Calhoun Street, Charleston, SC at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends in J. Henry Stuhr's Downtown Chapel at 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
Tom was born August 16, 1938, in Monroe, NC, a son of the late Albert Lee Collins and the late Mildred Claire Starnes Collins of Pageland, SC. He was a compassionate man who will be remembered for his generosity and unrelenting desire to help others. A graduate of Presbyterian College, he was a successful collard green salesman and the former president of Southern Frozen Foods, Montezuma GA, and a friend of Bill W.
Tom is survived by his three sons, David Collins (Debbie), Charleston, SC, Mark Collins, North Charleston, SC and Brian Collins (Rossi), of Mount Pleasant, SC; a sister, Julie Perry of Little River, SC; a brother John Collins of Chatham, VA; three grandchildren, Adam Collins, Thomas Wilson Collins, and Alexandria Collins; and a number of loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Jane Collins and twin brother Edd Collins.
