Thomas Joseph Carner

Thomas Joseph Carner, 89, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 6, 2023. His funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 17, 2023 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel at 2:00 pm, and the family will receive friends beginning at 1:30 pm. Burial will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens.

Thomas was born December 4, 1933 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late Leeman James Carner and Elizabeth Eaton Carner. Thomas served in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, a past master of Chicora Lodge, a member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, and a member of the First Southern Methodist Church. Thomas also loved boating, shrimping, and hunting. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and son.

He is survived by his son, Jeffery Carner (Denise) of Goose Creek; daughter, Karen Lewis (William) of Ridgeville; granddaughters, Amanda Turner and Amber Judy; and great-grandchildren, Chase Turner, Caden Turner, and Isabel Judy. In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Ann Arthur Carner; brothers, George Carner, Jimmy Carner, Johnny Carner, and Thomas Carner; and sisters, Annie Catoe and Mary Goodwin.
