Thomas Sutler Buckheister, Jr.

Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of May 5, 2012, Thomas Sutler Buckheister, Jr., husband of the late Rochelle Bolen Buckheister of Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral services Wednesday, May 9, 2012 in St. Andrews Parish United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway Tuesday, May 8, 2012 from 5:00-8:00 p.m.

Born April 25, 1937, Thomas was the son of Thomas Sutler Buckheister, Sr. and Virginia Burbage Buckheister. He retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard as a crane operator. Additionally, Mr. Buckheister retired from Bon Secours St. Frances Security, was a longtime employee of the Charleston Riverdogs, and served as a Skycap for the Charleston International Airport. He was a member of St. Andrews Parish United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Marla Beane and Jean Roberts, and her husband Bert; a son, Thomas S. "Trey" Buckheister III and his wife Serena; two brothers, Joe Buckheister and his wife Kay, and Roy Buckheister and his wife Cynthia; a sister, Kay Godfrey; five grandchildren: Steven Beane, Jeremy Cox, Trey Cox, Ashley Roberts, and Austin Roberts; and four great-grands: Madison Beane, Delaney Beane, Caleb Cox, and Hunter Cox.
