Theresa, affectionately known as “Te” was born in Conway, South Carolina. She was the daughter of Mose and Dinah Banner. Her idyllic youth was spent with extended family and many friends in Conway. Summers were spent in Myrtle Beach. She helped her parents in their store “Banner Brothers” on Third Avenue in Conway, later known as “Leder - Banner Department Store.” They clothed most of Conway and the farming community in Horry County for decades.

Te was at the top of her class at Conway High School, class of 1946. She graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Education, where she met her husband, A. Bernard Solomon, who had completed his military service and was attending USC Law School. Te and Bernard were married for 68 years, residing in Charleston on Gordon Street until 1963, then moving to South Windemere, where they lived until Bernard passed away in 2018.  Te was the epitome of a Southern Lady, possessing a beautiful and kind soul. She was extremely gracious and welcoming to everyone. Te loved to travel with Bernard. She was a fantastic baker, known far and wide for her whipped cream pound cakes, cheesecakes and banana pudding. Her full-time occupation was caring deeply for her family, and she was always at work! She was a member of Hadassah, The Council of Jewish Women, and the Sisterhood of Synagogue Emanu El. She was a Lion of Judah.

Te is survived by her three children: Raina Rubin (Phillip o.b.m,), Dr. Frederick  Solomon (Jan), and Diane Budman (Don) all of Charleston; eight grandchildren: Michael Rubin (Allison), Lauren Rubin, Dr. Jason Solomon (Jessica), Dr. Kevin Budman (Mandi), Avery Sudow (Noah), David Rubin (Lisa), Brian Solomon (Jessica), and Evan Solomon; and 13 great-grandchildren.
