Theresa M. Patton

Theresa M. Patton, 72, of Summerville, SC, entered into eternal rest Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Trident Regional Medical Center. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 30, 2016, in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road at 12:00 pm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Theresa was born June 22, 1943 in Savannah, GA, daughter of Walter Alexander and Florence Hilda Bowen Grimes. Theresa attended Elementary and High School in Savannah, GA. Upon her graduation, she went on to cosmetology school.Theresa's work career started as a cosmetologist for many years, then she changed careers and worked in the trucking industry in the Charleston and Rock Hill area for more than 15 years as a dispatcher. She also worked with several insurance companies as a licensed representative which included State Farm, Lincoln Heritage, Columbian Life and Grange. Theresa's biggest venture which she truly loved was as a Legal Shield Representative. Theresa built a nice size team and everyone knew her as "General Patton" because Terri told it just as she saw it. Theresa committed her life to Catholicism as an adult at Divine Redeemer Catholic Church and continued her service to Christ. She moved to St. Thomas Catholic Church and then settled at St. John the Beloved Catholic Church of Summerville. Theresa loved her St. John Church family and was a dedicated and faithful parishioner. Over the years, Theresa was a lector, part of the bereavement committee and a member of the Women's Club.

She is survived by her son, Scott Patton and his wife Melissa of North Charleston, SC; three grandchildren: Megan Patton, Caroline Patton and Taylor Patton.
