Theresa Dean Covington

Theresa Dean Covington, 93, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Thursday, February 23, 2023. Her entombment will be held Saturday, March 4, 2023 in Holy Cross Cemetery, 604 Fort Johnson Road at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Downtown Chapel.  Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.

Theresa was born March 9, 1929 in Summerville, South Carolina, daughter of Raymond A. Knight and Theresa Bee Knight.  She graduated from Memminger High School in 1946 and stayed active with many of her fellow classmates. She began her work career after high school at Southern Bell. From there she continued her work life as one of the first women clerks in the US Postal Service in Charleston. Several of her other jobs were owning a custom drapery business and working in real estate. Theresa loved to be active and volunteered many hours at the Senior Center on James Island. Theresa also enjoyed sewing, especially making drapery, spending time in the garden, and making things with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 
 
She is survived by her daughter, Sheryl Roberts; son, Tom (Debi) Johnson; her stepchildren, Donna Jackson, Larry Covington, and Steve Covington; five grandchildren, Carrie (Malik) Bell, Christie (Brian) Altman, Jamie (Ryan) Henderson, Robbie Johnson, and Chris Jackson; and two great-grandchildren, Connor Altman and Emma Altman.  Theresa is predeceased by her husband, Curtis S. Covington and stepson Mike Covington.
