Entered into eternal rest on the evening of February 18, 2012, Theodore Wilson Ridgeway, widower of Elesa Bazar Ridgeway, of Charleston, SC. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral services in St. Andrews Parish United Methodist Church Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 11 am. Burial will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Pkwy., Charleston Tuesday between 5 and 7 pm.
Mr. Ridgeway was born October 17, 1915 in Charleston, SC, a son of the late Theodore Ernest Ridgeway and the late Claudia Murray Ridgeway Groves. He was the owner of The County Store, a feed and seed store, and a member of St. Andrews Parish United Methodist Church. He attended Murray High School, was a past Treasurer and founding member of the Men's Club of St. Andrews Parish United Methodist Church, a Trustee of St. Andrews Parish United Methodist Church, lifetime member of the Administrative Council of St. Andrews Parish United Methodist Church and member of the South Carolina Seedsmen Association.
He is survived by two daughters, Mary Thompson (John) of Jamestown, SC and Brenda Canady (Brian) of Charleston; two brothers, LeGrande Groves and Ernest Groves, both of Florida; two sisters, Doris Flood and Gwendolyn Burn, both of Charleston; seven grandchildren, John W. Thompson (Kathy), Jr., Lisa Hilton (Thomas), Denise Watts, Trae Brown (Jenny), Ryan Brown (Jean), Allison Grundhoefer (Will), and Brian Canady (Erin); and eight great-grandchildren.
