Theodore Kirvin

September 1, 1957 — January 21, 2011

Rev. Theodore "Teddy" Kirvin, Sr., 53, husband of Linda Lou Martin Kirvin, of Mt. Pleasant, SC passed away Friday, January 21, 2011.  The relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at J. HENRY STUHR INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL on Monday, January 24, 2011 at 12 noon.  Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral chapel on Sunday, January 23, 2011 from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m.  Rev. Kirvin was born September 1, 1957 in Charleston, SC, the son of the late Robert Lee Kirvin, Sr., and Addie Evelyn Freeman Kirvin.  He graduated from Wando High School, where he was the kicker for the Warriors football team. He was an avid sportsman and coached little league football for the Town of Mt. Pleasant and also for Anson County while residing in North Carolina. He played bass guitar and sang in several gospel groups. He was a former dispatcher for the Mt. Pleasant Police Dept. and a painter by trade.  His theological studies were completed at the International Pentecostal Holiness Church headquarters in Lake City, SC. Rev. Kirvin served as pastor to several churches including Common Ground IPH in Mt. Pleasant, Ravenel IPH Church,  Antioch IPH Church, and St. Andrews IPH Church, and Wadesboro Pentecostal Holiness in NC.  He served as a Royal Ranger Commander and as a Youth Pastor also.  He is survived by his wife, Linda Lou Martin Kirvin of Mt. Pleasant, SC; son, Teddy Kirvin, Jr., daughter, Ashley Escobedo (Cecilio); two grandchildren, Eric and Carmen Escobedo; two sisters, Rebecca Kirvin Williams and Patricia Ann Spivey (Ronnie); brother, Charles Lewis Kirvin (Levica) and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, step-dad, William Bill Hilton, and two brothers, Richard James "Ricky" Kirvin and Robert Lee "R.L" Kirvin, Jr.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Andrews Pentecostal Holiness Church, 9 Tovey Road, Charleston, SC 29407.
