Theo Cecil Johnson

Theo Cecil Johnson, 94, of Hanahan, South Carolina, husband of the late Betty F. Johnson, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 15, 2025. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 22, 2025 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Northwoods Chapel from 9:00 am until 11:00 am, and a private Graveside Funeral Service will follow in Riverview Memorial Park at 11:30 am.

Theo was born January 14, 1931 in Greenville, South Carolina, son of the late Rufus A. Johnson and Leoma Owen Johnson. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Air Force Reserves. Theo began working in the construction industry but spent the majority of his career as a self-employed appliance installer. Although he was well known as a hard working man, he did take time to enjoy water sports, fishing, hunting and riding his motorcycle.

He is survived by his six children, Theo Glenn Johnson, Jimmy Johnson, Bonnie Johnson, Cecil Ray Johnson, Donna J. Murphy (Johnny), and Miriam Johnson; nine grandchildren, Helen N. Johnson, Tiffany Johnson, Brenna Shadix (Jay), Eric Bishop (Aloha), Adam Isgett, J. Steven Murphy (Sarah), Brittney Bordwell (Scott), K. Brandon Vorhis, and Brooke Vorhis; seven great grandchildren, Brianna Johnson, Gavin Davidson, Rylan Donovan, Tristan Shadix, Sean Bishop, Conner Isgett, and Jonathan Murphy; and one great-great grandchild, Lataurus Ravenell Jr. In addition to his wife and parents, Theo was preceded in death by his great granddaughter Amber Leigh Shadix.

He was a loving and devoted Christian father and always there for his children. By example, he taught them to be honest, hard working, and live a life with integrity, respect and compassion towards others. His family and friends will miss him immensely.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Theo's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
