Thelma Jones Sandifer, 96, of Charleston, SC, widow of Col. Samuel Hope Sandifer, M.D., entered into eternal rest Friday, June 10, 2016. Her funeral service will be held Monday, June 13, 2016, in the Cathedral Church of St. Luke and St. Paul, 126 Coming Street, at 1:00 p.m. Interment, Churchyard. The family will receive friends Sunday in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Thelma was born July 19, 1919 in Hamlet, North Carolina, daughter of the late Robert A. Jones and Pauline Hendricks Jones Harmon. She was a retired postal clerk from the U.S. Postal Service and a member of the Cathedral Church of St. Luke and St. Paul.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra H. Murphy (George) of New Smyrna Beach, FL; her son, R.C. Frederick Hanold (Ronna) of Greenville, SC; a brother, R. A. Jones of Bluffton, SC; a sister, Georgia Odom of Charleston, SC; grandchildren: Maylon, Frederick, Kristine and Bill; and five great-grandchildren.
