Thelma Stewart Lamkin

Thelma Stewart Lamkin, 84, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of the late Hollis A. Lamkin entered into eternal rest Tuesday, February 22, 2022. Her funeral service will be held at the graveside, Wednesday, March 2, 2022, in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Rd., at 11:00am. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 1, 2022 in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mt. Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Rd., from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.

Thelma was born February 18, 1938 in Crewe, Virginia, to the late Jacob Leon Stewart and the late Della Luella Minar. During her life, Thelma had a career as an operations manager, and found joy in her talents as an artist. She loved to dance and give back to her community by being involved with numerous Isle of Palms civic organizations. She will be remembered for her colorful garden and love of animals, but mostly for the family she loved.

She is survived by her children, Pamela Ann Middleton (Greg) of Mt. Pleasant, Elbert Leonard "Lenny" Spears (Lucy) of James Island, Larry Spears (Kristy) of Awendaw; seven grandchildren, Cory Middleton, Jeremy Middleton, Will Spears, Ben Spears, Sydney Spears, Katie Spears, Rainey Spears; and three great-grandchildren, Ethan, Gavin, and Olivia.
