Thelma Maxene Brothers, 97, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Thursday, March 7, 2024. Services will be held in Missouri at a later date. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel.

Thelma was born March 15, 1926 in Advance, Missouri, daughter of the late Glen Charles Reed and the late Ellade Erving Reed.  She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and the VFW Ladies Auxillary. She will be remembered for the way she loved her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna J. Bishop of Charleston, SC; two grandchildren, Bryan Amlingmeyer of Summerville, SC, Angela "Angie" Libhart (Brad) of Charleston, SC, ; four great-grandchildren, John Carter Amlingmeyer of Tampa, FL, Hart Joseph Amlingmeyer of Bay St. Louis, MS, Bradley Cole Libhart and Robert Gabriel Libhart, both of Charleston, SC; three siblings, Shirley Vanderver (David) of Barnhart, MO, Doris Cotner (Jim) of St. Louis, MO, and Charles Reed of southern IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin B. Brothers, son-in-law, Robert "Bob"  Bishop; siblings, Jean Ellen McKnight, Dorothy Mae O'Neal, Lucille O'Howell, and Johnny Reed.
