The Honorable Francis Talbot

The Honorable Francis Farron Talbot, Jr., 64, husband of Jane Frances Sweeney Talbot of Mt. Pleasant, SC, passed away on Monday, July 26, 2010.  The relatives and friends of Judge Francis Talbot, Jr. are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, July 30, 2010 in St. Benedict Catholic Church (meeting at All Saints Lutheran Church, 2107 N. Hwy 17, Mt. Pleasant, SC)  at 10:00 a.m.  Burial will be private.  The family will receive friends in J. HENRY STUHR MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL on Thursday, July 29, 2010 from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. A prayer vigil will be held as part of the evening visitation. Judge Talbot was born July 25, 1946 in Niagara Falls, New York.  He was the son of the late Dr. Francis Farron Talbot, Sr. and Florence Cecilia O'Donoghue Talbot.  He served in the United States Army during Vietnam and worked as a Federal Administrative Law Judge.  He was a life member of the D.A.V., a member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of St. Benedict's Catholic Parish.  He was a wonderful family man, cherishing his roles as husband, father, brother and grandfather. Judge Talbot was appointed to the Board of Veterans' Appeals by President Ronald Reagan and later appointed as a Federal Administrative Law Judge for the Social Security Administration by President George H.W. Bush. He is survived by his wife, Jane S. Talbot of Mt. Pleasant, SC; children, Christine Talbot-Bond and her husband, Eric, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Bridget Talbot Williamson and her husband, Thomas, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Francis D. Talbot of Juba, Sudan and Mt. Pleasant, SC, Michael S. Talbot of Mt. Pleasant, SC; grandchildren, Abigail Williamson, Sarah Williamson, Fisher Bond,  and Mark Williamson; two sisters, Mary Sumrall of Hixson, TN and Helen Rubin of Monterey, CA.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Agatha Rathbun, and was awaiting the arrival of his granddaughter, Claire Williamson. The family requests that donations be sent to MUSC Foundation - In Support of Pancreatic Cancer Research, 16 Bee Street, MSC-450, Charleston, SC  29425 or the "Building Fund" of St. Benedict's Catholic Church, 3850 Bessemer Road, Suite 120, Mt. Pleasant, SC  29466.
