Tex Helms

Tex Helms, 58, of Summerville, South Carolina, husband of Amy Helms entered into eternal rest Tuesday, April 23, 2024. His Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 27, 2024 in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service. A Celebration of Life will follow at Wingate by Wyndham @ CSU, 9280 University Blvd., N. Charleston, SC 29406.

Tex was born November 6, 1965 in Huntsville, Alabama, son of the late Sam Helms and Roberta Ruth Gillhouse Helms. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years. Tex enjoyed cooking, watching movies, fishing and sports. He loved watching the Clemson Tigers and America's Team - The Dallas Cowboys with his grands who lovingly called him "Pop Pop" while sipping his sweet tea. 

Tex is survived by his wife of 13 years, Amy; children: Nikki Helms of Ladson, SC, Maria Raneri (Brittany) of N. Charleston, SC, Erin Helms of N. Charleston, SC, Kayla Hutto (William) of Summerville, SC, Christin Gadsden (Frank) of Summerville, SC, Jade Hutto of Summerville, SC, Dawson Helms of Goose Creek, SC, Ashlie Hutto of Summerville, SC, Brayden Helms of Summerville, SC, and Cameron Helms of Summerville, SC; 12 grandchildren: Leevi, Ellie, Kayana, Hazel, Ava, Connor, Amyliah, Frank, Aria, Chase, Lynnix, and Jordyn; brother, Sam Helms (Tee) of Moncks Corner, SC, mother-in-law, Mary Meyer of Summerville; and many loved family and friends. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Eileen Stokes and grandmother, Peggy Petty.
