Terry William Ray, 71, of Ravenel, SC, husband of Deborah Compton, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, August 12, 2020.
Terry was born July 16, 1949 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of Arthur Inman Ray and Vera Whitaker Ray. He was a Machinist at Certainteed for more than 40 years. Terry was a Marine and served in Vietnam. He was saved at Pierpont Baptist Church and confirmed his faith before he left this world. Terry was a loving husband to Deborah for 26 years and will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and brother. He was an avid fisherman, camper, knife collector and loved to care for all of his many animals.
He is survived by his brothers Jack Ray (Cheryl) of Charleston, SC, Eddie Ray (Belinda) of North Charleston, SC, and Richard Ray of Myrtle Beach, SC; his sister, Penny Ray, of Charleston, SC; his daughters, Kathryn Ray, Tonya Ray and Charity Wilcox, all of Charleston, as well as his 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Terry was proceeded by his brother, Mickey Ray and his sister, Vivian Mosley.
A special thanks to Charity, Tyler, Matthew, and Buck for their care and compassion during his final days.
"To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord". For we know that Terry was at peace with himself when he departed this life.
