Teresa Maria Anderson

Teresa Maria Anderson, 61, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of George A. Anderson, Jr., entered into eternal rest Monday, February 17, 2025. Her Funeral Service will be held Monday, March 3, 2025 in the Coastal Community Church, 460 Arlington Drive at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 2, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., West Ashley Chapel. 

Teresa was born August 13, 1963 in Omaha, Nebraska, daughter of the late Luiz Joseph Lopez and Yvonne Maria Turner Lopez. Teresa began her nursing career in 1982 as a Licensed Practical Nurse at St. John's Hospital in Tulsa, OK . Two years later she enlisted in the United States Navy as a corpsman, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in 1990. After obtaining her Bachelor's degree, she worked as a Registered Nurse / Charge Nurse for the Medical University of South Carolina. She briefly left MUSC to work for the South Texas Organ Bank in Antonia, TX. She returned two years later to work at MUSC as a Registered Nurse-Charge Nurse from 1995 until January 15, 2022. In 2018 she was awarded the Main Hospital Peri Anesthesia Nurse of the Year. Teresa was a member of multiple organizations associated with her career such as: the American Society of Peri Anesthesia Nurses, the Association of Clinical Research Professionals, as well as being a member of Chi Eta Phi.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters, Madison Johnson, Logan Johnson, Bethany Anderson; sons, George Anderson, III, Julian Anderson; brothers, Michael Lopez, James Lopez, Ted Lopes, Paul (Jean) Lopez, Jeffery Lopez; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Kimberly Parish.
