Tammy Louise Gatlin, 52, of Hanahan, SC passed away Saturday, June 27, 2015. Her funeral service will be held Thursday, July 2, 2015 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road at 11:30 am. Interment, Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel with an Eastern Star service starting at 7:00 pm.
Tammy was born May 31, 1963 in Charleston, SC, the daughter Clarence A. Gatlin, Jr. and the late Mattie "Tootsie" Binnicker Gatlin. Tammy graduated from First Baptist in Charleston and attended College of Charleston and Trident Technical College. Tammy was a member of the National Federation of the blind of S.C. She was instrumental in getting legislation passed that would allow a blind person to use a S.C. DMV ID to verify writing a check. She was an advisor of the Rainbows. Associated with Eastern Star Chapter Hanahan 250. Tammy was an avid Gamecock and NASCAR fan.
Tammy will be dearly missed by Janie S. Broome, Lady of Clarence A. Gatlin and her companion Reggie Smith; numerous aunts, uncles, many cousins. She is truly missed by her special companions "her feline children". She was predeceased by the grandparents, Hubert and Louise Binnicker; Clarence A. Gatlin, Sr. and Ponell Brunson Gatlin.
