Sylvia "Sammi" Annette Goodman, 65, of West Ashley, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on September 17, 2012 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in St. Andrews Parish United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends in J. HENRY STUHR, WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, Tuesday, September 18, 2012 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.Sylvia was born March 5, 1947 in Lumberton, North Carolina. Daughter of Lewis James West and the late Bruce Simmons West. She attended Moultrie High School. She was a member of St. Andrews Parish United Methodist Church.Sylvia was a homemaker. She loved to cook and entertain. She loved to decorate, especially at Christmas time. She was known for her sweet, gentle spirit. She was devoted to her husband and children. She loved animals, boating and traveling.She is survived by her devoted husband of 33 years, Clayton Elwood Goodman; son, John M. Magwood (Carla) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; daughter, Crystal Goodman of Charleston, SC; grandchildren, Meghan, Briana, Selena, Arial, Isaiah, Joshua, and Jaden; step-grandchildren, Kim White (Nick) and Chris Morris; sisters, Shelby Young (Dale), Pam Kornarhrens, Mary Schram (Matt); brothers, Larry West, and Tim West (Lori).
