Sylvia Jane DuPont

Sylvia Jane McCullar DuPont, 80, of North Charleston, SC, widow of MCPO Dean Floyd DuPont, Sr., USN (Ret.) entered into eternal rest Wednesday, February 17, 2016. Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2016 in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, SC at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel, Monday, February 22, 2016, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

Sylvia was born July 12, 1935 in Jasper, Alabama, daughter of the late Richard L. McCullar and Lillis Smith McCullar. She was a retired nurse assistant.

She is survived by her two sons, Dean DuPont, Jr., (Illissa) of North Charleston, SC, and Steven J. DuPont of Panama City, FL; daughter, Lisa Marie Holley of Summerville, SC; thirteen grandchildren: Dean DuPont III, Elizabeth DuPont, Timothy DuPont, Sara Sweatman, Amy DuPont, Beau DuPont, Vanessa DuPont, Richard DuPont Jr., Jeremy DuPont, Landon Holley, Lee Holley, Lauren Holley, Robert Pavlick, and three great-grandchildren: Nova Pratt, Khole Platt, and Brandon Pavlick.

She was preceded in death by her son SSG Richard G. DuPont, US Army.
