Mrs. Sydell Billig Hilts, 83, of Summerville, SC, and formerly of Surfside Beach, SC, passed away in her home, surrounded by her family that cherished her on September 15, 2015.

Sydell was born on December 29, 1931 in Bronx, New York to Lena and Max Billig.

Known for her loving demeanor and protective nature for her children. Her life was committed to her children and their well being. Supporting her family and the never ending strength she exhibited throughout her life influenced her children and all those that she encountered.

Sydell is survived by her brother Martin Billig of NY; her ten children: Susan Konvit of NY, Lyle James Hilts Jr. of SC, Robin Hilts of SC, Denise Wood of SC, Mark Hilts of SC, Norman Hilts of SC, Katherine Hanna of SC, Todd Hilts of SC, Kris Blackard of SC, and Wendy Hilts-Deas of SC; her fifteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Lena and Max Billig of Bronx New York.

Funeral Services will be held at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 1:00 pm.
