Susan Clingerman Wick

Former Junior League President, Susan Clingerman Wick, born at Wright Patterson Air Force Base on October 22, 1945, passed away suddenly on October 30, 2017, on Isle of Palms, S.C.
She is survived by her sister, Sarah Clingerman Pierce; her children, Melinda Susan Wick Aufmuth (Chris), Robert Edward Wick III (Stephanie), and William Ray Wick; and her beloved grandchildren, Caroline Elizabeth Wick, William Tristan Wick, Gabriela Alexis Wick, Jackson Robert Wick, Margaret Elizabeth Aufmuth, Tyler Andrew Wick, and Christopher Samuel Aufmuth. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eloise Poorman Gleason, William Ray Clingerman, and Robert J. Gleason.
She graduated from Ohio University in 1968, where she was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority and received her Master's Degree from Virginia Intermont College.
Ms. Wick gave her time to many organizations, including The White House, Mount Vernon and her favorite, the Kennedy Center, where she volunteered for over 20 years. While her children were growing she worked tirelessly for the Junior League of Bristol, serving as President in 1985 – 1986.
A memorial will be conducted at 5:30 p.m., Saturday, August 25, 2018, at Wild Dunes Resort, North Lawn, Isle of Palms, S.C. The family will receive family and friends during a reception after the service.
In lieu of flowers, the children request donations to the Sea Turtle Rescue, c/o South Carolina Aquarium, 100 Aquarium Wharf, Charleston, S.C. 29401.
