Susan passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026 after a short illness. She is a native of Charleston, a city she truly loved. Until recently she'd spent her entire life in the neighborhood in which she grew up.

She is a 1977 Ashley Hall graduate, a 1981 graduate of Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA, and a 1982 graduate of The Institute for Paralegal Education in Philadelphia PA.

Susan worked for many years at the National Trust for Historic Preservation and The Charleston Museum. She was the youngest of five children born to Anne Hedderman and Robert T. Wall of Charleston, SC.

She is predeceased by her parents; her brother, Dr. Robert T. Wall, Jr. of Los Angeles, CA; brother-in-law, John Stewart Carter of Los Angeles, CA; and nephew, Michael Thorp Wall of Charleston, SC.

Susan is survived by her sister, Nancy Wall Farrington of Boston, MA; brother, Mark Hedderman Wall of Charleston, SC; sister, Elizabeth Wall Carter of Los Angeles, CA; sisters-in-law, Susan Taylor Wall of Los Angeles, CA, and Kathleen Renken Wall of Charleston, SC; 11 nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many, many Charleston friends. She will be greatly missed.

Her Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at the St. Lawrence Cemetery, Huguenin Avenue at 1:30 pm. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Downtown Chapel.
