Susan Elaine Oliver

Susan Elaine Grooms Oliver, 78, of North Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Clarence Lumm Oliver, Sr., entered into eternal rest Monday, October 29, 2018. The family will receive friends Thursday, November 1, 2018 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Her Funeral Service will be held Friday in Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens.

Susan was born April 3, 1940 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late William Murray and Lila Mae Grooms Murray. Loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was the caretaker, support system, doctor, therapist and the matriarch of the family.

She is survived by her two daughters, Donna Sue Barfield of Summerville, SC, Lila Denise Thrower of North Charleston, SC; son, Andrew Daryl Grooms, Sr., and wife Joann of Summerville, SC; sister, Catherine Barfield of Charleston, SC; eight grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son Clarence Delton Grooms.
