Susan J. McKown , 65, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, widow of James Robert McKown, died Tuesday, March 28, 2017. Her loving family was by her side during an extended illness. Her Memorial Service will be held Sunday, April 2, 2017 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the chapel immediately after the service.

Susan was born December 18, 1951 in Raleigh, North Carolina, daughter of the late Harry Francis Jones and the late Madge Davis-Sherman. After a 35 year career with BellSouth, Susan retired to Goose Creek.

She will be dearly missed by her four siblings, Gloria J. Wimmer of Sunset Beach, NC, Michael S. Jones (Julie) of Conway, SC, Phillip E. Jones of Columbia, SC, and September J. Ponder (Gary) of Charleston, SC; her son, Tyler R. McKown; her nieces and nephews, Robbie (Margaret), Ryan, Dawn, Jean, Michael, Billy (Jennifer), Bailey, and Joshua; her father and mother-in-law, Jim and Annie McKown; and three brothers-in-law, William, Kenneth, and Douglas.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society.
