Susan Ruth Jacobson

Susan Ruth Jacobson, 90, formerly of Indian Lake, PA and of North Huntingdon, PA, died peacefully in her sleep on the morning of March 6, 2014. A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 09, 2014 in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel, Charleston, SC. A Memorial Service is also planned in Pennsylvania.

Susan was the youngest of eight children of the late James Russell Koch and Mary Jane Johns Koch. Susan was born September 1, 1923 in Irwin, Pennsylvania. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Jacobson worked as an editorial assistant to Dr. Mark Ravitch at Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA and also worked at Westinghouse for a number of years.

She is survived by her five nieces and two nephews: Barbara Fairfax of Charleston, SC with whom she was living prior to her death; Kathy Fillnow of Verona, PA; David Pollock of Clarksville, PA; Debbie Ross and Ellen Ross of Pittsburgh, PA; James Ross of Finleyville, PA and Linda Shaffer-Bauer of Conneaut Lake, PA; a special niece Marianne Swenson of Natick, MA; a great-grand nephew and namesake, Todd Jacobson (Jake) Fairfax of St. Thomas Island, SC; plus numerous extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, William W. Jacobson, who died in July 2012 and also her five sisters and two brothers.
