Susan Gail King Grove, 49, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of Bob Kevin Grove entered into eternal rest Sunday morning, June 14, 2015. Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL at 10:00 am. The service will be limited to family and friends.
Susan was born October 1, 1965 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of Gloria Lorraine Martin King and the late George G. King Jr.. Susan grew up in West Ashley and became a cosmetologist working at Heidi's Salon in the Omni Hotel in Charleston and at Trend Benders on King Street. Susan was a wife and mother of two sons. Her hobbies included cooking, travel, and gardening. Susan loved animals of all types and had a variety of pets, including her beloved duck, Blackie, a rescued owl and her ferrets. She loved life and was an inspiration to all who knew her. During the last years of her life, Susan was diagnosed with breast cancer and fought a brave battle to overcome the disease while continuing to be a devoted mother to her two sons.
Susan is survived by her husband of 25 years, Kevin Grove and her sons, Brian C. Grove, Jason P. Grove, all of Mount Pleasant, SC; her mother, Gloria Lorraine King of Mount Pleasant, SC and her brothers, John W. King of Mt. Pleasant, SC and George Gary King, III of North Charleston, SC.
