Susan Mabel Dodenhoff

Susan Mabel Dodenhoff, 73, of Charleston, SC, entered into eternal rest Saturday, March 4, 2017. Her funeral service will be held at the graveside Tuesday, March 7, 2017, in Magnolia Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Downtown Chapel.

Susan was born May 10, 1943 in Charleston, SC, a daughter of the late Colden Matthews Dodenhoff and Caroline Bruggemann Dodenhoff. She was a lifetime member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, a member of the Daughters of the King, and a member of Circle 4 St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Women of the ELCA. Susan was a member of the National Society of United States Daughters of 1812, the National Society of Daughters of the American Colonists, the Huguenot Society of South Carolina, and the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution. She earned her Bachelor's Degree from Winthrop College and her Master's Degree from the College of Charleston. Susan was a retired public school teacher of 30 years. She played the violin and soprano recorder; was a master basket maker; and was a weaver and jewelry maker.

She is survived by her mother, Caroline; and her twin sister, Anne Estelle Dodenhoff of Charleston. She was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Elizabeth Dodenhoff.
