Sue Lundy Stramm, 78, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of the late Ronald A. Stramm of Charleston and the daughter of the late Ethel Roberts and Haddon Claude Lundy of Horry County, SC passed away Monday, December 1, 2014 after a short illness. Her Funeral Service will be held Thursday, December 4, 2014 in Asbury-St. James United Methodist Church, 754 Rutledge Ave. at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.
Born in Conway, SC, Sue graduated from Aynor High School in Aynor, SC and The Medical College School of Nursing in Charleston. She was employed at the Medical University of SC, serving as Staff Nurse, Nursing Supervisor and Research Nurse until her retirement in 1996. She was a member of Asbury-St. James United Methodist Church.
A fan of many sports and an avid golfer, Sue was a former member of the Yeamans Hall Summer Golf Club, the Charleston Area Ladies Golf Association, the Palmetto Golf Association and the Lower SC Woman's Golf Association, and one of her great pleasures was cheering for her beloved Clemson Tigers.
She is survived by two daughters, Susan S. Johnson (Brett) and Leigh A. Stramm (Nancy) both of Charleston; three sisters, Helen B. Frederick of Mt. Pleasant, Carolyn L. Quijada of Stockton, CA and Janice M. Bowman of High Point, NC; a brother, James H. Lundy of Charleston; two grandchildren, Matthew B. Johnson and Preston L. Johnson, both of Charleston; three step-grandchildren, Alex, Amber and K.J. as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins throughout the United States.
