Stuart Jay Fetter, age 78, of Charleston, South Carolina, lost his long battle with Alzheimer’s disease on Wednesday, March 27, 2024. His burial service will be held Friday, March 29, 2024 in the Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Road at 10:30 am. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc.
Stuart, son of James Milton Fetter and Florence Rubinsky Fetter, was born in Waco Texas. He attended Waco High School, Tyler Junior College and served in the National Guard.
Stuart had a passion for the jewelry business and was Executive Vice President of Zales Corporation before opening stores in Waco and nearby Tyler, TX. He later traveled the country with his wife, Janice, for Silverman Consultants.
A member of the Cougar Club, Stuart was a fervent fan of the College of Charleston and Baylor basketball teams. Stuart spent his free time golfing with friends, boating and listening to his favorite country music. Stuart loved animals, especially his cherished dogs, Murphy and Shelby.
Stuart is survived by his beloved wife, Janice Lindsey Fetter of Charleston, South Carolina and his step-daughter, Cindy Carter (Liz). In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Southern Tails for Precious Paws animal rescue
