Steven Alfred Brinson, 23, of North Charleston died November 7 in a work-related accident performing a job he loved.
He was born April 22, 1990, in New Orleans, the son of Ron Brinson and Peggy Inabinet Brinson. He was a graduate of Fort Dorchester High School and Trident Technical College. He was employed by Superior Transportation of North Charleston in logistics management. He was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church in Summerville.
Steven was an avid outdoorsman, a self-proclaimed "lover of the environment - mostly good fishing." He was an accomplished artisan in making fly fishing lures. While in the seventh grade at Oakbrook Middle School, Steven joined the Fort Dorchester High School swim team to swim with his brothers. He earned high school letters six straight years, set many school records and was co-captain of the Fort Dorchester high swimmers his senior year.
He is survived by his parents, and his brothers Andy of Charleston, and Teddy of Clemson, and his beloved fiancée Jessica McLawhorn.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, November 11 at Bethany United Methodist Church in Summerville. Visitation 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, November 10, at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, North Charleston.
