Stephen Ramsey Sailor

Stephen Ramsey Sailor, 81, of Mount Pleasant, SC, passed away July 12, 2025. Born and raised in and around St. Louis, MO he was the son of Claudine Ramsey and Kenneth Boswell and husband to Carlene Sailor for nearly 60 years. A graduate of Tulsa University, with a degree in Economics, he proudly served in the United States Navy stationed in both Cape Hatteras, NC and Awali, Bahrain. He and his wife then moved to Tulsa, OK where he retired from the Tulsa County Library System. He was an active member of First Christian Church Tulsa prior to relocating to Charleston, SC to be closer to his children and grandchildren. He loved reading, music, trains, sports and spending time with his six grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son David Sailor, daughter-in-law Rebecca and their children Ila Gray, Ramsey, and Lucile and son Danny Sailor, daughter-in-law Lauren and their children Grayson, Henry, and Parker.

A private, family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Down Syndrome Association of the Lowcountry, in honor of Lucile Sailor, Stephen’s beloved granddaughter: Down Syndrome Association of the Lowcountry, PO Box 2275, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29465.
