Stephanie was born on December 8, 1961, in Millington, TN to Dale and Virginia Smith. She grew up in West Ashley and was a graduate of Middleton High School and Converse College.

She survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Jurgen Hauschild; sons, Karl Hauschild (Waely) of Orsay, France, and Paul Hauschild (Kelly) of James Island; sister, Linda Kennard (Eddie) of Hendersonville, NC; and grandchildren, Leonard and Julia, and Riley, and Max.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Dale Smith and James Cook.
