Stephan Howard Walker, 54, of North Charleston, SC, entered into eternal rest Saturday, December 31, 2016. His funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2017, in St. Barnabas Lutheran Church, 45 Moultrie Street, at 12:00 noon. Interment, Bethany Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday at the church one hour prior to the service. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL.

Stephan was born December 28, 1962 in Charleston, SC, son of William Howard Walker and Joan Rabens Walker. Stevie earned a BS degree in Chemistry from The Citadel, where he was a member of The Citadel Class of 1986. He was a retired chemist for the civil service. Stevie's accomplishments in this life included two patents with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He was a life member of The Association of Citadel Men/Citadel Alumni Association and he proudly wore The Ring. Stevie was a member of St. Barnabas Lutheran Church. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family and his beloved companion, his dog, Savannah.

He is survived by his parents of North Charleston; two sisters, Terry Tyler Byrd, and Robin Walker Heffron; sister-in-law, Gabriel Tyler; two nephews, Jonathan E. Byrd and family, and Walker Heffron; and niece, Jennifer Byrd. In addition to his immediate family, Stevie will be sadly missed by his extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Wayne Tyler; brother-in-law, Randall "Randy" George Heffron, D.M.D.; nephew, Randall George Heffron, Jr.; paternal grandparents, Carlton H. Walker and Leona Hryhor Walker; and maternal grandparents, John Henry Louis Rabens, Sr. and Louise Campbell Rabens.
