Stella Ione Strawhorn

Stella Ione Strawhorn, 86, of Mt. Pleasant, SC passed away on Monday, June 27, 2011.  The relatives and friends of Stella Strawhorn are invited to attend her Funeral Service at the graveside in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Simmons Street in the Old Village, Mt. Pleasant, SC on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 5:00 p.m.  Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL. 

Stella was born on April 16, 1925 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late John Ralph Strawhorn and Margaret Whiting Strawhorn. She worked at Thomas & Howard and then was bookkeeper at Morton Needle Real Estate, where she retired.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant where she taught Sunday school for many years. 

She is survived by her sister, Caroline Burgess of Springhill, FL; brother, John R. Strawhorn, Jr. of Liberty, SC; nieces, Margaret Connors of Springhill, FL and Joni Spearman of Central, SC; and nephews, Joseph D. Burgess, Jr., Allen R. Burgess and Paul Burgess.  She was preceded in death by a sister, Bette Strawhorn and a niece, Judy King.
