Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of December 5, 2010, Stella Harris Litchfield, widow of Jack Palmer Litchfield. Residence, Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service in Grace United Methodist Church, Wednesday, December 8, 2010, at 2:00 pm. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, Tuesday, between 5:00 and 8:00 pm.
Mrs. Litchfield was born June 29, 1924, in Union, SC, the daughter of Samuel Jackson Harris and Stella Belle Palmer Harris. She was a charter member of Grace United Methodist Church and was retired from the Charleston County School District, where she worked at Orange Grove Elementary School. She was also a member of The Order of the Eastern Star, Charleston Chapter #56.
She is survived by three daughters: Constance Litchfield "Connie" Enis (Pete) of Caswell Beach, NC, Lynn Litchfield Carlton of Hickory, NC, and Robyn Litchfield Fill (John) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; three sisters: Annie Lou Harris Litchfield of Charleston, SC, Ruth Harris Corn (James) of Winston Salem, NC, and Easter Elaine Walton of Charleston, SC; one brother: Samuel J. "S.J." Harris, Jr. of Union, SC; five grandchildren: Kristie Strader (Todd) of Apex, NC, Ashley Enis of Wilmington, NC, Kelly Beth Enis of Charleston, SC, Benjamin Carlton of Hickory, NC, and Nicholas Carlton of Hickory, NC; three great grandchildren: Samuel Jackson Enis, Ivan Strader and Cordney Strader; numerous nieces and nephews.
