Stefan Arculano Guzman, 52, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 31, 2025. Funeral arrangements are being handled by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel.
Born on November 18, 1972, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Stefan was the beloved son of Ernest Guzman and the late Erika Forst Guzman. From an early age, Stefan radiated warmth, humor, and a zest for life that endeared him to everyone he met.
Stefan pursued his passion for the culinary arts with dedication and heart, ultimately fulfilling his dream of becoming a chef. He worked in kitchens across Charleston and North Carolina, where his creativity and skill left a lasting impression. Whether preparing a simple meal or crafting an elaborate dish, Stefan infused his cooking with love, precision, and joy.
Beyond the kitchen, Stefan radiated joy through his infectious laughter and playful spirit. From a young age, he captivated family and friends with his spot-on impersonations and mischievous antics, always intent on lifting the mood and sparking a smile. That same light-hardheartedness remained a constant throughout his life, endearing him to all who knew him.
Stefan is survived by his father, Ernie Guzman; his stepmother, Kitty Guzman; his brothers, Ernesto Guzman and Jeffrey Guzman; his girlfriend, Taylor Vallancey; his stepsister, Karen Neumann; his stepbrother, David Neumann; and his loving niece, Jasmine Brown, along with her husband, Sean Brown. He also shared a deep and joyful bond with his niece McKenzie Brown, and his nephew James Brown.With his nephew Sinkler Adams-a warm connection often marked by laughter and the shared delight of tacos at their favorite spots. God-daughters,Caylee and Caroline Clanton. Stefan’s presence in their lives was a source of warmth, humor, and unforgettable memories.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Erika Guzman, and his sister, Rebekka Pechlin.
Stefan’s legacy lives on in the laughter he sparked, the meals he lovingly prepared, the hearts he touched, and the music that was always part of his day,. Whether cooking, driving, or just relaxing — music was his way of staying connected and finding comfort.
