Stanley Leon Waldman

Stanley Leon Waldman, 80, of Hanahan, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Sunday, January 3, 2021. His funeral service will be held at the graveside Tuesday, January 5, 2021 in Brith Sholom Beth Israel Cemetery (Maryville), Sycamore Avenue at 11:30 a.m.The service will be live-streamed and can be viewed using the following link: https://youtu.be/OkMDXQev77c. Stanley was born April 11, 1940 in Warren, Ohio, son of the late Edward Waldman and Sally Myers Waldman. He was a graduate of the University of Miami and the University of South Carolina Class of 1962. Stanley was an Attorney for almost 40 years and was one of the first lawyers to practice in North Charleston. He was heavily involved with the first election in making North Charleston a city and voted Boss of the Year by the Charleston County Legal Secretaries Association in 1974, SC American Bar Association. Stanley retired from the practice of law in 1987 because of illness. After retirement he devoted much of his time to the family self-storage business known as AAA Downtown Storage. Stanley authored several books and manuals for the self-storage industry and became the "Ann Landers" of self-storage. For several years his father-daughter columns appeared regularly in "Inside Self Storage" magazine as "Ask the Waldmans". He is a Past Master Marina Lodge #2 AFM Rotary, Elks Charleston Lodge #242, Hebrew Benevolent Society, Scottish Rite Temple, Omar Shrine Temple, Toastmaster, SC Bar Association, and Past Worship Master of Friendship Lodge.
Stanley is survived by his son, Joseph H. Waldman of Charleston, SC; two daughters: Jill W. Oltsik of Kansas City, MO and Stacey W. Manocchio of Boca Raton, FL; two grandchildren; many loving cousins to include: Carole Gussis O'Day, Mervin and Judy Waldman, Kenny Greene, Ken Myers, Terry and Ann Waldman. He is also survived by his significant other, Gondi Cherba and the mother of his children, Sheila Waldman. Stanley had many more relatives and friends that loved him dearly and he will be missed by all.
