Stacy Carter Ouzts

Stacy Carter Ouzts, 97, of North Charleston, SC, died Sunday, August 25, 2013. The Funeral Service will be held Thursday, August 29, 2013 in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 8720 Antler Drive, North Charleston, SC 29405 at 9:30 am. The Interment will be held at 4:30 pm at Hodges Cemetery, Hodges, SC. The family will receive friends Wednesday in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm.

Stacy was born April 26, 1916 in Epworth, SC, son of the late Stacy Peter Ouzts and the late Ida Mae Carter Ouzts. He was a welder and draftsman at the Charleston Naval Shipyard and a property developer in North Charleston. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints he served as a teacher, high councilman and bishop among other callings. He was the widower of Belle Hodges Ouzts and Lois Bulterman Ouzts.

He is survived by his sons, Stacy Carter Ouzts Jr. and his wife Corinne of North Charleston, SC and David Carlisle Ouzts of Gillette, WY; daughters: Regina Katherine Ouzts and Leora Jane Ouzts both of North Charleston, SC and Barbara Fae O. Harris and her husband DeWin of Troutdale, OR; sister, Elizabeth Taylor and her husband Marlow; brother, Milton Ouzts all of Bountiful, UT; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren.
