Stacey Lauren Slotchiver, 58, of Isle of Palms, South Carolina, wife of Daniel Slotchiver entered into eternal rest Sunday, August 4, 2024. Her graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 6, 2024, in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Rd. at 2:00 pm. Due to inclement weather, the service will be held next door at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Funeral Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Rd. Please check our website for any changes.
Stacey was born on July 6, 1966 in New Brunswick NJ and raised in Holmdel, NJ. She attended Syracuse University where she was a member of Tri-Delt Sorority. She then attended Whittier Law School in Los Angeles California where she met the love of her life, Dan. They were married in 1989, 35 years this past June.
After law school they moved to Charleston, SC (Dan’s hometown) where she served as a Charleston County Public Defender and later as a Private Practice lawyer.
Stacey was diagnosed with a rare cancer in 1996 and with her strength and determination overcame it. In fact, she ran the Honolulu Marathon in 1998, served as an ambassador for the Relay of Life in Washington DC amongst many other truly incredible accomplishments.
Stacey and Dan’s daughter Shaina Rose, who she considered her miracle child, was born in 2002.
Stacey loved family, athletics, the beach, travel, movies and music. She was a fighter, and despite her post-cancer challenges she rose to all occasions and was a kind and generous inspiration to all.
Stacey is survived by her husband Dan, daughter Shaina Rose, her mother Joan Cohen (Stanley Cohen OBM) her three siblings (Scott Cohen, Jaimi Fox and Shannon Cohen) her mother in law Carole Slotchiver, many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, 18 nieces and nephews and multiple great nieces and nephews. She was dearly beloved by all.
