Sophie Lee Sanders

Sophie Lee Jacobs Sanders, 98, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Otis F. Sanders entered into eternal rest Monday, October 29, 2018. The family will receive friends Friday, November 2, 2018 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Her funeral service will at the graveside in Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3093 Ashley River Road at 11:30 a.m. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL.

Sophie was born December 20, 1919 in Richland County, South Carolina, daughter of the late Wesley Daniel Jacobs and Annie Stone Jacobs. She worked at the American Tobacco Factory, Condon's Department Store, The Citadel, Pepsi Bottling Company. She loved bingo, and was a member of the Elks Club "Lady Does". She was a Charter member of Faith Lutheran Church of Johns Island, and was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer.

She is survived by Children, daughter, Barbara S. Howell of Charleston, SC, son, Otis L. Sanders of Goose Creek, SC, daughter, Ginny Kusek (Pete) of Savannah, GA, son, Daniel Wesley Sanders (Marilyn) of Callahan, FL; ten grandchildren, numerous great and great-great-grandchildren, and her precious dog Mindy. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, M.D. Jacobs.
