Sonia Alexandria Chernosky

Sonia Alexandria Chernosky, 76, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Friday, November 3, 2023. Her Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2023 in Holy Ascension Orthodox Church, 265 N. Shelmore Blvd. at 12 PM.  Entombment to follow in Magnolia Cemetery. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel.

Sonia was born June 18,1947 in Brooklyn, New York, daughter of the late Alexander Chernosky and Olga M. Chernosky.  She grew up surrounded by Russian and Ukrainian culture.  Sonia was an accomplished artist, specializing in intricate bead work that emphasized her spiritual nature.  This resulted in lovely jewelry that many loved to wear.   A recent transplant to Charleston, she spent many happy years in San Luis Obispo, CA. 

Sonia is survived by her two sisters: Elena A. Bell of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Nadia A. Perry of Livingston, NJ; brothers-in law Achilles Perry and Alex Bell; nephews Achilles M. Perry, Alex Perry, and Alex I. Bell.  May her memory be eternal.
