Sondra H. Sherman, 80, of Hanahan, South Carolina, wife of John W. Sherman entered into eternal rest Friday, February 18, 2022. A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 5, 2022 at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc, Mt. Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Rd, at 8:30 am. Interment will be private.
Sondra was born July 11, 1941 in Sedgwick, Arkansas; she was one of 12 children of the late Searcy A. Henry and the late Ida Stout Henry. She had a variety of work experience as an administrative assistant including Boyle Motor Company, Sherwin Williams, and Raytheon Technologies. She was a longtime active member of Highland Park Baptist Church in Hanahan. Sondra enjoyed gardening, reading and crossword puzzles, but will be remembered for her devotion to her husband and family.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, John; daughter, Regina Carr (Mike) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; son, John Eric Sherman (Lisa) of Stafford VA; brother, Randall Henry (Janice) of Lebanon, TN; four grandchildren, Laura Ford Alderman (Matt) of Folly Beach, John Patrick Sherman of Stafford, VA., Hilary Ford Monaghan (Brandon) of Mt Pleasant, and Amanda Sherman Halstead (Chris) of Locust Grove, VA; five great-grandchildren and a sixth arriving this spring.
