Skeeter Wiggins, 71, of Saint Matthews, South Carolina, husband of Suzi McCormick Wiggins entered into eternal rest Saturday, July 14, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.
Skeeter was born October 19, 1946 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late James Wilson Wiggins, Sr. and Edna Brown Wiggins. Skeeter loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He was a kind and generous man, always helping people and so giving of himself. He was larger than life and a gentle "giant". He was well respected by all who met him and you never forgot Skeeter. He loved cooking for family and friends while attending Clemson Tiger football games. He and Suzi traveled to many unique places, South Africa, New Zealand, Nova Scotia, Alaska, Hawaii, The Caribbean. Some of the best trips were hunting trips with his loved ones to places in North Dakota, Montana, Maine and Mexico. He especially loved the beautiful home he and Suzi built in the woods of St. Matthews.
He was a member of the Hibernian Society, National Wild Turkey Federation, Rocky Mountain Elk Federation and the National Rifle Association. He attended Abraham Baldwin College. He was an owner in the heavy aggregate hauling business in Charleston.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Suzi McCormick Wiggins of Saint Matthews, SC; two daughters: Kelly Wiggins of James Island, SC and Angie Wiggins of Wilmington, NC; two grandchildren: TJ & Savannah; a brother: Jim Wiggins (Diane) of James Island, SC; his faithful English Setter companion: Bentley.
His funeral service will be held Thursday, July 19, 2018 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, 232 Calhoun Street at 4:00 p.m. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00pm.
