Sidney Jane Cain Hallman

Sidney Jane Cain Hallman passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 10, 2014, after a prolonged illness at Sandpiper Rehabilitation & Nursing Home in Mt. Pleasant, SC.
Sidney was born on April 21, 1933 in Colwyn, Pa. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Dorothy Cain of Rosemont, Pa. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, George E. Hallman.
She attended the Women's College of the University of North Carolina in Greensboro, NC. She loved reading, volunteering in a variety of organizations, gardening, cooking, and creating art through many different mediums. Her family and friends were the focus of her life. She touched many hearts and always had a smile and a kind word.
Sidney was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is survived by her children, Mike Hallman of Hartsville, SC, Steve (Krystal) Hallman of Myrtle Beach, SC, Sandy Holladay (Glenn) of Charlotte, NC, Scott (Mary Alice) of Westminster, Md, and Brooke Hallman of Mt. Pleasant; seven grandchildren, Steven Hallman of Boston, Ma, Josh Hallman of Hartsville, SC, Ryan and Brett Holladay of Charlotte, NC, David Hallman of Baltimore, Md, Drew Hallman of San Jose, Ca, and Amy Hallman of Westminster, Md; and one great granddaughter, Aliyah Hallman of Homer, NY. She is also survived by one sister, Leslie J. Cain.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. Mark's Chapel at Historic Union Church, 1004 Eleventh Avenue, Port Royal, SC on Wednesday, December 17th at 2:00 pm followed by a private graveside service for the family. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association, (http://act.alz.org/goto/Sidney_Hallman) or Beaufort County Open Land Trust, P.O. Box 75, Beaufort, SC 29901.
