Shula Eugenia Mellard

Shula Eugenia Hilton Mellard, 89, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina entered into eternal rest Monday, November 19, 2012. Her Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, November 21, 2012 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, 232 Calhoun Street at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Bethany Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. in Stuhr's Downtown Chapel.

Shula was born October 3, 1923 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of William W. Hilton and Daisy Postell Hilton. She retired as a Clerk with the Charleston Naval Shipyard.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Mount Pleasant She is survived by three sons: Charles W. Mellard, Jr. of Dallas, TX, Richard Mellard (Ann) of Orangeburg, SC, David H. Mellard (Sydney) of Lawrenceville, GA; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Doris Hilton of Anderson, SC. Shula was preceded in death by her brother, William W. Hilton.
